Reiser joins Family Dollar as White moves on
July 10th, 2013
MATTHEWS, N.C. – Family Dollar Stores Inc. has made two executive changes in its merchandising ranks.
Paul White, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, has left the company, while former Walmart and Sam’s Club executive Jason Reiser has joined Family Dollar as senior vice president of merchandising.
While the company conducts a search for a replacement for White, Michael Bloom, president and chief operating officer, will assume interim responsibility for the chain’s merchandising.
In his new post Reiser will be responsible for the health and beauty aids and household businesses at Family Dollar. He replaces John Scanlon, who retired from Family Dollar at the end of March.
Reiser comes from Sam’s Club, where he most recently served as merchandising vice president of health and family care. He started with Sam’s Club as a senior buyer in 2006 and, before that, was director of government relations and regulatory affairs at Walmart.
