Montini is moving up at Rite Aid

April 18th, 2011

CAMP HILL, Pa. – Rite Aid Corp. has promoted senior vice president of category management Tony Montini to executive vice president of merchandising.

Montini, who started his second stint with Rite Aid in February 2010 after spending time with the chain’s advertising agency and Kmart Corp., will oversee field merchandising and the company’s new store format development in addition to his current responsibilities for category management.

"Tony has done a terrific job this past year in strengthening our category management department and further building upon our strong relationships with suppliers," chief operating officer Ken Martindale says. "With his broad-based retail experience and expertise in chain drug merchandising and marketing, he will be a great asset in strengthening our field merchandising capabilities and continuing the development of the new store formats."

Meanwhile, senior vice president of business development Bryan Shirtliff has been named to the new position of senior vice president of merchandising.
