Reiser joins Family Dollar as senior VP

July 22nd, 2013

MATTHEWS, N.C. – Former Walmart and Sam’s Club executive Jason Reiser has joined Family Dollar Stores Inc. as senior vice president of merchandising for hard lines.

In his new post Reiser will be responsible for the health and beauty aids and household businesses at Family Dollar. He replaces John Scanlon, who retired from Family Dollar at the end of March.

Reiser comes from Sam’s Club, where he most recently served as merchandising vice president of health and family care. He started with Sam’s Club as a senior buyer in 2006 and, before that, was director of government relations and regulatory affairs at Walmart.

Reiser has 28 years of retail merchandising experience, and he is a registered pharmacist.
Reporting to Reiser at Family Dollar are Rick Siliakus, vice president of hard lines, and Jim Trappani, vice president of health and beauty aids.
