November 2nd, 2011
MATTHEWS, N.C. – Beth MacDonald has been promoted to vice president, assistant general counsel and assistant secretary, at Family Dollar Stores Inc.
The deep discount store chain said Tuesday that MacDonald, who previously held the title of assistant general counsel, will report to Jim Snyder, senior vice president and general counsel.
MacDonald joined Family Dollar in 2010 as divisional counsel for securities and was promoted to assistant general counsel in April 2011. Before coming to the retailer, she was a partner in the Charlotte, N.C., office of Alston & Bird, where as outside counsel she provided legal advice on corporate and securities law matters to a number of public companies, according to Family Dollar.
"Being a compelling place to work means developing talent and rewarding individuals like Beth for their achievements and contributions," Snyder said in a statement. "Beth's diverse legal experience will ensure the company continues to maintain compliance in an ever-changing regulatory environment and support our mission of being a compelling place to shop, work and invest."
Family Dollar has more than 7,000 stores in across 44 states.
