Frito-Lay debuts new Lay's, Rold Gold snacks
March 25th, 2014
PLANO, Texas – Frito-Lay North America has added new varieties to its Lay's potato chip and Rold Gold pretzel brands.
The PepsiCo company said this week that it has launched Lay's Kettle Cooked Lattice Cut Potato Chips and Rold Gold Pretzel Thins.
The Lattice Cut Kettle Cooked potato chips, announced Tuesday, start with a Lay's signature potato, which is then sliced thick and cut into an open-cut lattice shape. They are then kettle-cooked in small batches to provide a crispy texture to allow for maximum crunch and flavor, Lay's said.
The new chips come in two flavors: aged cheddar with black pepper, and roasted garlic with sea salt.
Available now at retailers nationwide, Lay's Kettle Cooked Lattice Cut potato chips carry a suggested retail price of $3.49 for a 7-ounce bag and $1.49 for a 2.5-ounce bag.
On Monday, Frito-Lay announced the new Rold Gold Pretzel Thins, which are intended to provide a satisfying mid-day snack to help consumers get through the day.
Featuring a light and crunchy texture, Rold Gold Pretzel Thins bring the versatility of a cracker, since they can be dipped, popped or topped, the company said.
Rold Gold Pretzel Thins are available in three flavors — original, garlic parmesan and three cheese — and have a suggested retail price of $3.29 for an 8.25-ounce bag.
