MINNEAPOLIS — Target Corp.’s commitment to an urban growth strategy featuring flexible-format stores carrying assortments tailored to the local clientele is taking the retailer into Manhattan’s East Village neighborhood with a store set to open in 2018.

Target’s website notes that the two-level, 27,000-square-foot store will offer apparel and accessories, home goods, food (with grab-and-go selection spanning sandwiches, salads, beverages and more), health and beauty, and consumer electronics.

The retailer’s Target Mobile and Order Pickup services will be available at the outlet, to be located at 500 East 14th St. (on the corner of Avenue A) and adjacent to Stuyvesant Town-Peter Cooper Village, a sprawling private residential development covering 80 acres, with 89 apartment buildings and about 8,750 dwelling units.
