ATLANTA — Walmart has joined the network of retailers accepting InComm Healthcare and Affinity’s Enhanced Payment Platform, thus allowing members of more than 90 health plans with cards issued by IHA to participate in health plan-sponsored wellness programs and receive benefits at Walmart locations nationwide.

walmart 4-19-16“The addition of Walmart to our network of retailers is a major milestone for our platform that significantly expands the value we can provide to the health plans and affinity groups we serve,” said David Vielehr, senior vice president and general manager of IHA. “Our vision has always been for our Enhanced Payment Platform to be at the center of the complete retail wellness offering that includes pharmacy, grocery and lifestyle choices.”

For Walmart, the platform can support multiple sponsors, payment types and payers for each program, significantly expanding the scope of the member benefit.

IHA is a leading prepaid product and transaction services company.

“More and more, Americans are taking an active role in their health, and we want to help,” said Alex Hurd, Walmart’s senior director of product development, growth and payer innovation, health and wellness. “Health plans promote wellness activities directly to their members, and we’re bringing solutions to the table that can help support those members’ healthier lifestyles by being in network for those plan benefits. Using our size and scale, we have a big role to play in making products and services that promote the well-being of our customers and associates more accessible and affordable.”
