FLORIDA, N.Y. — Brett Wing was named president of ShopRite Supermarkets Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Wakefern Food Corp. and the owner and operator of 34 ShopRite stores in New Jersey and New York.

Wing has worked at ShopRite Supermarkets since 2015, when he was hired as executive vice president. With his recent promotion, Wing succeeds Dave Figurelli, who retired earlier this month after 15 years with the company.

Wing brings nearly four decades of experience to his new role, which gives him oversight of day-to-day operations and strategy planning for ShopRite stores in New Jersey and the Hudson Valley and capital regions of New York.

After starting out as a bag boy at Safeway, Wing forged a career in the supermarket business and rose to executive positions by becoming an industry leader and innovator creating next-generation store formats, enhancing customer experiences and leading store expansions, the company said in announcing his promotion.
