3M launches Nexcare Duo bandages

ST. PAUL, Minn. – 3M’s Nexcare brand has unveiled Nexcare Duo, a new line of bandages featuring a silicone adhesive for long-lasting hold and pain-free removal.

A survey conducted by Atomik Research on behalf of Nexcare from March 9-12, 2021, found that painful bandage removal impacts how Americans make decisions in caring for minor injuries at home. The survey uncovered that as many as one in three Americans avoid wearing bandages to forego the pain of removal. The survey also found that more than half of parents are willing to leave a bandage on their child longer than necessary because of the child’s fear of removal.

“Painful bandage removals have been the norm for far too long,” said Peter Berens, Nexcare gobal brand leader. “Consumers around the world create all kinds of workarounds and tricks to avoid an unpleasant bandage removal experience. Our all-new Nexcare Duo product introduces bandages as they should be – secure, flexible, and as easy to remove as they are to apply.”

3M scientists designed the silicone adhesive for the Nexcare Duo bandages with silicone adhesive for all day hold and pain free removal while providing protection for minor cuts, burns and scratches. The benefits of Nexcare Duo bandages include:

3M has launched the Nexcare Duo bandages with a new ad campaign created by the San Francisco-based agency Venables Bell + Partners. The creative “Flinch Face Duo” spots have already appeared on multiple platforms including Discovery Digital and NBC affiliate stations during the 2021 games this summer, primarily July 23 through August 8, including opening and closing ceremonies. The NBC affiliate markets include New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas, and Boston, among others, with some additional display on NBC’s landing page dedicated to the games. In the fifteen and thirty-second ad spots, one person prepares for a painful bandage removal, only to find that with Nexcare™ Duo they can say goodbye to “flinch face.”
