SEATTLE — Amazon.com is taking its integration with Whole Foods Market to the next level, offering 10% discounts on Whole Foods sale items and special deals on top grocery items to Amazon Prime members.

The discount program is starting in Florida this week and will roll out nationwide this summer, the company announced on Tuesday.

Discounts for Prime members will work through the Whole Foods app. Prime members will sign into the app using their Amazon account, and then scan the “Prime Code” inside the app when they check out at Whole Foods.

Additional items eligible for discounts for Prime members will be designated by signage inside Whole Foods stores. Deals will rotate weekly, Amazon said.

Prime discounts available in Florida this week include:

• Sustainably sourced, wild-caught halibut steaks: $9.99/lb., a discount of $10 per pound.
• Organic strawberries: $2.99 a pound, a savings of $2.
• Cold-brewed coffee at Allegro coffee bars: 50% off a 16-ounce serving.
• KIND granola snacks: Two for $6.
• 365 Everyday Value sparkling water: Buy one 12-pack, get one free.

Along with the specials, Prime members will get an additional 10% off hundreds of sale items at Whole Foods stores and Whole Foods Market 365 stores.

Amazon acquired Austin, Texas-based Whole Foods less than a year ago for $13.7 billion.

Amazon cut prices on many items at Whole Foods upon completing the acquisition, though some of the prices were increased later.

Amazon started offering delivery from Whole Foods to Prime customers in selected markets earlier this year. It also offers 5% back on all Whole Foods purchases to customers with the Amazon Prime credit card. The company intends to make Amazon Prime the Whole Foods customer rewards program.
