Club Publix loyalty program makes its debut

LAKELAND, Fla. — Recognizing that its customers want personalized offers, Publix has launched its first personalized membership rewards program, called Club Publix.

The free program bundles together a number of digital features, including early notifications of buy-one-get-one offers and other sales, the ability to pay with a simple scan of the Publix app, and the option to receive e-receipts. Club Publix also adds personalization to these digital features with exclusive member perks and personalized content, the company says.

“We’re always looking for ways to create a more convenient and rewarding shopping experience for our customers that delivers more of what matters to them,” Publix vice president of marketing Mark Irby said in a statement. “Customers who join the free program will enjoy a more seamless shopping experience, one that’s more personalized to their individual needs and preferences.”

In fact, according to research conducted by Salesforce that found that 84% of consumers say that being treated like a person, and not like a number, is very important to winning their business. Also, 74% of consumers said they expect companies to understand their needs and expectations.

Current publix.com account holders will automatically be enrolled in the program and can immediately take advantage of the new Club Publix benefits, the company said. Other consumers who are interested can sign up by visiting the Club Publix web site, by downloading and registering in the Publix app, or texting JOIN to 782549.
