Former Macy’s marketing officer joins NRF

WASHINGTON – Former Macy’s executive Martine Reardon is joining the National Retail Federation as chief marketing officer and executive vice president of content and membership.

Reardon spent the last decade with Macy’s, retailer of apparel, accessories, cosmetics, home furnishings and other consumer goods under the Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s and Bluemercury banners.

She served as Macy’s chief marketing officer from 2012 through 2016. She led the company’s 1,300-person marketing organization including advertising, creative, strategy, brand development, social, mobile and digital media, public relations, cause marketing, media planning, and consumer data and insights for more than 800 stores and the macys.com digital platform.NRF

Reardon also she presided over the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Fourth of July fireworks shows, and tentpole fashion extravaganzas in New York City and key markets around the country.

During her tenure, Macy’s recorded five consecutive years of comparable sales growth, added more than $5 billion in sales and achieved six consecutive years of double-digit growth.

At NRF, Reardon will be responsible for driving the trade group’s marketing, event content and membership strategy. She will identify key partnerships, objectives and necessary investments to achieve the organization’s short-term and long-term goals to advance the interests of the industry, NRF said in a press release announcing the hire.
