CINCINNATI — Kroger Co. has promoted Joe Fey to president of its Quality Food Centers (QFC) division.

Kroger Co. has promoted Joe Fey to president of its Quality Food Centers (QFC) division.

The 57-year-old Fey had been vice president of merchandising for the company’s Michigan division. He succeeds Donna Giordano at the helm of the 68-store QFC chain.
Giordano left Bellevue, Wash.-based QFC earlier this summer to become president of Kroger’s Ralphs division in California.

"We are pleased Joe has agreed to join our QFC division," Kroger president and chief operating officer Rodney McMullen says. "His skills as a mentor and expert merchandiser will help QFC continue to be the quality and service leader in the Pacific Northwest."

Fey brings nearly 35 years of retail experience to QFC. He began his career as a meat clerk with Kroger in 1972 while still attending college.
