SALISBURY, N.C.  Food Lion is adding its Food Lion To-Go grocery pick up service at 38 stores in North Carolina and Virginia beginning Monday.

Customers ordering groceries using the Food Lion To-Go website or the Food Lion To-Go can confirm a time to pick up their merchandise at the store.

“Expanding this convenient service to additional Food Lion stores is more important than ever,” said Evan Harding, director of digital and e-commerce marketing at Food Lion. “We want to give local neighbors the option to shop through the channel they prefer, in-store or online, while still ensuring they have access to the freshest groceries at affordable prices.”

The service allows customers to place an order and pick up their groceries on the same day.

The company noted that the ongoing expansion of its pickup service highlights its commitment to making grocery shopping easy, fresh and affordable.

Customers can link their personal MVP cards to their accounts, and redeem digital coupons as well as Shop & Earn MVP rewards savings. Customers can also see their accumulated Shop & Earn rewards on their checkout screen and view which clipped digital coupons will be applied to their order, the company said. Other perks include MVP discounts, in-store promotions and weekly savings specials.

Food Lion To-Go is available seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Earlier this month, Food Lion announced the addition of grocery delivery services at another 300 stores across five states.

Food Lion is partnering with Instacart to expand food delivery services to the stores’ customers in Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. In some instances, digital shoppers will receive their groceries within an hour, the company said.
