NACDS past chairman Martin Otto, H-E-B’s chief operating officer, accepted the 2018 “Politically Engaged Pharmacy Award,” or PEP Award, on behalf of the company, in recognition of its exemplary leadership and participation in the NACDS Political Action Committee (NACDS-PAC). The award is presented to a company or individual who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to the advancement of pharmacy through political engagement.

“Under Martin’s leadership, H-E-B has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to advancing community pharmacy legislative priorities with lawmakers. H-E-B has consistently displayed its support for NACDS-PAC and its role in our advocacy efforts,” said NACDS vice chairman Chris Lane, executive vice president at Wakefern Food Corporation/Shoprite.
