GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. — Dollar General Corp. recently announced plans to hire 10,000 employees by mid-October to support planned store openings and fill vacancies.

The company said it was planning about 600 localized hiring events through September 24 to give applicants the opportunity to meet with store operations personnel and human resources managers.

The company, which operates more than 13,000 stores in 44 states, said it was looking to hire for full-time and part-time positions, including store managers, assistant store managers, lead sales associates and store associates in permanent roles.

“Dollar General remains focused on our strategy to invest in our employees as a competitive advantage,” Todd Vasos, Dollar General’s chief executive officer, said in a statement last month.
