FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Hisamitsu America has launched the new Salonpas Lidocaine 4% Pain Relieving Gel-Patch, which features the maximum strength of lidocaine available without a prescription.

this-salonpas“We developed the Salonpas Lidocaine 4% Pain Relieving Gel-Patch to be as close as possible to the 5% prescription Lidocaine patches,” said Hisamitsu America president and chief executive officer John Incledon. “Our lidocaine is delivered using our proprietary coating technology, which ensures precise and even delivery of medicine at the site of pain. These unscented patches provide numbing relief to desensitize aggravated nerves for hours of pain relief.”

Hisamitsu America is the U.S. division of Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical Co., which has specialized in transdermal drug delivery technology since it launched its first Salonpas line of pain relieving patches in 1934. The company says its Salonpas Pain Relief Patch is the first and only product of its type that is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The new Salonpas Lidocaine 4% Pain Relieving Gel-Patch, which is described as using a proprietary hydro-gel technology to sooth aggravated nerves, sells for a suggested price of $11.99.
