CAMP HILL, Pa. — Rite Aid Corp. has promoted senior executive vice president of merchandising, marketing and logistics Ken Martindale to chief operating officer.

Rite Aid Corp. has promoted senior executive vice president of merchandising, marketing and logistics Ken Martindale to chief operating officer.

The 50-year-old Martindale, who has been with Rite Aid since December 2008, takes over in that position from John Standley, who succeeded Mary Sammons as Rite Aid’s president and chief executive officer last month.

As COO Martindale will oversee all of the drug chain’s store operations as well as its efforts in category management, marketing, merchandising and supply chain.

"In a very short time, Ken has had a significant impact," Standley says. "Add to that his experience in store operations during his extensive career and Rite Aid has a very talented and accomplished new COO."
