GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — With the holidays approaching, Meijer Inc. announced it was adding toys, artificial trees and other seasonal items to its home delivery service.

Meijer earlier this year introduced online shopping with delivery of more than 70,000 grocery items and general merchandise to more than 10 million households across the Midwest via third-party delivery provider Shipt.

“We’ve had tremendous success delivering groceries to our customers across the Midwest, so we are very pleased to offer them the convenience of having their holiday gifts delivered to their doorstep as well,” Rick Keyes, Meijer’s president and chief executive officer, said in a statement. “Whether you are looking for a turkey, toys and gifts or even decorations, our brick-and-mortar stores combined with a personal shopping solution provides something for everyone’s holiday shopping needs.”

Meijer customers who want merchandise purchased online to be delivered to their homes must sign up for Shipt at $99 a year, a price that gives them unlimited free deliveries on orders worth more than $35. Delivery of orders worth less than $35 cost $7.
