CHICAGO — Mass Market Retailers recently hosted an in-person event to honor the outstanding executives who were identified by the publication as the industry’s Most Influential Women in 2021.

The event included a panel discussion moderated by WSL Strategic Retail’s CEO and Chief Shopper Wendy Liebmann and featuring Rite Aid executive vice president and chief pharmacy officer Jocelyn Konrad, Walgreens group vice president for beauty and personal care Lauren Brindley, and TBB Track Club president and three-time Olympic medalist Tonja Buford-Bailey. There was also an award presentation and the chance to meet (and get a photo with) Olympic track and field stars Buford-Bailey and Ashley Spencer.

The awards presentation and reception drew retailer and supplier executives from across the food, drug and mass channels to the Ivy Room, an event space in a historic building on Chicago’s Ohio Street.

The reception was sponsored by CeraVe, and The Desire Co. sponsored the appearance by the Olympians. Other sponsors were Alaffia, Hallmark,  the National Association of Chain Drug Stores and RensAir (air purification).

MMR recognized Mass Market Retailing’s Most Influential Women in its June 21 print edition.
