WASHINGTON — On Wednesday, May 10, March of Dimes hosted its 41st Annual March of Dimes Gourmet Gala in Washington, DC, and the National Association of Chain Drug Stores Foundation (NACDS Foundation) returned — for the seventh year — as a Platinum Sponsor of the event.

March of Dimes leads the fight for the health of all moms and babies. March of Dimes supports research, leads programs and provides education and advocacy so that every family can have the best possible start. Building on a successful 85-year legacy, March of Dimes supports every pregnant person and every family.

This year, the Gourmet Gala brought together more than 700 guests, more than 80 sponsors and 40 Members of Congress — raising a record-breaking $1.37 million in support of March of Dimes’ advocacy, research, education and programs across the country.

During the event, Steven C. Anderson delivered remarks in his capacity as chairman of the NACDS Foundation.

In welcoming attendees at the March of Dimes 2023 Gourmet Gala, Anderson said:

“It is my distinct honor to welcome you to the 2023 March of Dimes Gourmet Gala. I’m thrilled to be here with all of you — celebrating this extraordinary organization. The NACDS Foundation is in our seventh year as a Platinum Sponsor of this wonderful event. We return each year, inspired by the lifesaving work of the March of Dimes. Their longstanding commitment to moms and babies is remarkable.

“For over 85 years, the March of Dimes has spearheaded the fight for all moms and babies to have a healthy start. They are discovering innovative solutions to ensure better health for generations to come. Working together with each of you, the March of Dimes is pushing the limits of innovation and striving to close the health equity gap. Tonight, the power of partnership is on full display.

“At the NACDS Foundation, we, too, are committed to driving improvements in healthcare access and equity. Our innovative care models are being piloted in communities with greatest need — and shortening the distance to better health.

“Tonight, we are all making an important difference to support healthy moms and strong babies. Thank you for being here and for your generous support.”
