P&G expands Clairol Natural Instincts recall

CINCINNATI — Procter & Gamble Co. has added two more hair coloring shades to its recall of Clairol Natural Instincts products in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.

Procter & Gamble Co. has added two more hair coloring shades to its recall of Clairol Natural Instincts products in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.

P&G said late Friday that very small number of the two additional products — Natural Instincts 11G Lightest Golden Brown (Amber Shimmer) and Natural Instincts Vibrant Shade 6A Light Cool Brown (Wake-up Cocoa) — are affected. With the two additional shades, P&G is voluntarily recalling 12 Natural Instincts shades from the market.

The company announced the voluntary recall of 10 shades of Clairol Natural Instincts earlier this month because it said a mismatched ColorFresh! Revitalizer sachet in the kits that may create an unwanted color result.

The ColorFresh! Revitalizer gives users a boost of color two weeks after the initial coloring. According to P&G, the primary hair colorant isn’t affected by the recall, and all of the products contained in the kit remain safe to use.

Other Clairol Natural Instinct shades affected by the recall include Shade 16 Light Auburn (Spiced Tea), Shade 35 Brown Black (Ebony Mocha), Creme Shade 03G Light Golden Blonde (Honey Creme), Creme Shade 7.5 Dark Blonde (Maple Creme), Creme Shade 21G Medium Golden Brown (Caramel Creme), Creme Shade 23R Medium Auburn (Raspberry Creme), Creme Shade 30R Dark Auburn (Cherry Creme), Creme Shade 31 Darkest Brown (Coffee Creme), Vibrant Shade 9 Natural Light Blonde (Blonde Vibrance) and Vibrant Shade 10 Extra Light Blonde (Sun-Kissed Blonde).
