HOUSTON — RediClinic plans to open 20 new health clinics in H.E. Butt Grocery Co. stores across Texas.
RediClinic plans to open 20 new health clinics in H.E. Butt Grocery Co. stores across Texas.
The retail health clinic operator said Monday that the expansion will almost double the 21 RediClinics now operating in H.E. Butt supermarkets.
Plans call for eight new RediClinics to open in H.E.B. food and drug stores in the Houston, Austin and San Antonio markets by the end of January. The three new San Antonio RediClinics will operate in affiliation with Methodist Healthcare System, according to the company.
"Our Houston- and Austin-area RediClinics already have served more than half-million satisfied patients," Web Golinkin, RediClinic’s chief executive officer, said in a statement. "We look forward to responding to Texans’ growing need for access to primary and preventive health care by increasing our capacity in Houston and Austin and by bringing our unique model of accessible and affordable care to San Antonio residents."
In addition to its alliance with Methodist Healthcare System, RediClinic is affiliated with Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in Houston and St. David’s HealthCare in Austin.
RediClinic said its expansion reflects the rising need for effective and affordable health solutions in the wake of health care reform.
"As demand for primary and preventive care continues to outstrip supply, and as costs continue to escalate at unsustainable rates, new delivery models are emerging," explained Golinkin. "RediClinic has spent the last five years developing a new model of care that increases access and reduces costs without sacrificing quality, and the time is right for us to begin making it more widely available."
Open seven days a week, RediClinics are staffed by board-certified nurse practitioners and physician assistants who collaborate with local doctors to diagnose, treat and prescribe medications for common medical conditions. RediClinic also offers a wide range of preventive services, including immunizations, health screenings, medical tests, and physical exams. No appointments are needed.
