MILWAUKIE, Ore. — Chain drug stores and mass market outlets that carry top-selling natural products have incrementally increased sales by enticing natural channel shoppers to crossover for the convenience of one-stop-shopping. Now retailers can hear shopping behaviors of these natural consumers based on survey results at a complimentary virtual panel with representatives from this community. The American Association of Homeopathic Pharmacists (AAHP) is hosting leaders from Holistic Moms Network and Planet Joette for “AAHP’s Homeopathic Shopper Panel in the Era of COVID-19.” Moderated by Andrea Fallin, executive vice president of Strategy for CDR/MMR, the event will be held July 23 from 2–3 p.m. ET. Register at https://www.theaahp.org/event/shopper-panel/

Panelists include Lisa Lennon, Social Media and Marketing Manager at Holistic Moms Network. This non-profit organization connects parents and creates supportive communities, both in person, through local chapters, and online to help parents and others to learn about holistic and green living.

Also representing the natural shopper is Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHome(Na). This well-known practicing homeopath has amassed a large following through years of her blogs, podcast series and weekly Facebook Live events. Visit www.PracticalHomeopathy.com.

Surveys were distributed to both groups. “Through the data collected, we hope to provide insight on which shopping behaviors altered during the COVID-19 quarantine for homeopathic medicines might persist and which might be dropped,” explains Mark Land, AAHP president. “The forum will bring together retailers and marketing and sales staff at homeopathic companies to hear the consumer voice.”

Homeopathic brands have outpaced the growth of conventional OTC; Compound annual growth rate (CAGR) is 17% to 3% since 2013. The category is on the path to a billion dollars in sales by 2024. These OTCs give retailers something innovative to offer consumers and fulfill a niche for products with natural active ingredients. Moms and seniors on other medication seek out homeopathic products as one of the safest classes of drugs with very low risk of side effects or drug interaction.

Celebrating nearly 100 years of supporting the homeopathic industry, AAHP promotes quality and regulatory compliance in the manufacturing and marketing of these OTCs. Contact AAHP to learn more about how homeopathic brands can accelerate store sales.
