PHILADELPHIA — Rite Aid issued a statement Thursday on personnel moves that were made this week.

“As part of our ongoing efforts to reduce costs and streamline operations, we have restructured our senior and corporate leadership teams, eliminating certain positions. As part of these changes,  Erik Keptner, SVP, chief marketing and merchandising officer, and Bill Renz, SVP, Category Management and Merchandising, have left the organization. Senior members of the marketing and merchandising team will now report to Andre Persaud, executive vice president and chief retail officer. These are difficult but necessary decisions as we work to create a more efficient organization while investing in areas to deliver on the full potential of our business,” the company said.
