Rite Aid unveiled the latest iteration of its wellness store format with the grand reopening of a remodeled store here.

"We know our customers’ health and wellness needs are always changing," said chief operating officer Ken Martindale. "As such, it’s important that we change with them and are able to evolve and innovate across all areas of our operations. Here in Lemoyne we’ve taken our successful wellness store format to the next level."

The exterior of the store has a new look with wood grain paneling, and the interior has a warmer look as well, with wood tones and softer lighting. A wooden path on the floor leads directly to the pharmacy department, which has been cleared of all merchandise in an effort to create a more open and welcoming environment. Located nearby is the store’s GNC department, as well as a smoking cessation department.

Other new features in the store include: an interactive kiosk that lets customers order prescription glasses and contact lenses online for home delivery (eyeglass frames are available to try on); a Diabetic Diagnostic Center that offers everything needed to manage diabetes, including blood test meters and testing strips; an expanded men’s grooming section; a nail bar; and a grab-and-go cooler at the front of store for quick pickup of milk, eggs and other convenience items.

Rite Aid introduced its wellness store format in 2011 and now has about 570 of the units.
