TORONTO — Katz Group Canada Ltd. has named former Duane Reade and Longs Drugs pharmacy executive Frank Scorpiniti chief operating officer.

Katz Group Canada Ltd. has named former Duane Reade and Longs Drugs pharmacy executive Frank Scorpiniti chief operating officer.

"Frank is a strategic thinker who has a passion for the retail pharmacy industry and a proven ability to drive growth and performance within an organization," says Katz chief executive officer Andy Giancamilli. "We are confident that his leadership and experience will help enhance the customer experience across our network of corporate, franchise and banner pharmacies."

In his new role Scorpiniti will oversee the retail operations of Katz’s Rexall, Drug Trading Co. and Medicine Shoppe Canada Inc. chains.

At the same time, Katz has appointed Warren Jeffery chief development officer. In this role he will lead the company’s productivity and growth initiatives.

Jeffery will retain his position as Katz’s interim chief merchandising officer.
