Target Corp. has added two executives to its executive committee and named a new president for its Canadian operations.

The new executive committee members are senior vice president of enterprise strategy and new business development Tina Schiel, who has been promoted to executive vice president of stores; and Laysha Ward, who remains as president of community relations and the Target Foundation.

"Both women have a keen understanding of Target’s business and will bring valuable experience and unique insight to their new positions," says chairman, president and chief executive officer Gregg Steinhafel.

Meanwhile, Tony Fisher has been named president of Target Canada, where he will oversee the company’s efforts as it begins to establish itself north of the border.

"Tony has a strong sense of Target’s unique culture, merchandising strategy and brand and a proven record of delivering results," says chief marketing officer Michael Francis. "[This] makes him well suited for this new role."
