BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Howard Hacker will be joining the Walmart on October 17 as the new vice president of health and wellness compliance, the company said Tuesday. Hacker will report to Matt Miner, Global Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer.

“Howard Hacker brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this role and will be responsible for overseeing health and wellness compliance for clinics, pharmacy and optical operations as well as the underlying compliance programs tied to them,” according to an internal memo shared by Madalyn Klika, senior manager with global governance communications at Walmart.

Prior to Walmart, he served as executive vice president and chief compliance officer at Tenet Healthcare where he oversaw the ethics and compliance programs and reported directly to the quality, compliance, and ethics committee of Tenet’s board of directors.

Howard holds a bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Texas in Austin.
