LAKELAND, Fla. — Publix Super Markets on Friday announced that it will add a GreenWise Market store in its corporate hometown.

The new store will be located on South Florida Avenue in Lakeland, Fla., and will be about 25,000 square feet in size. A projected opening date has not yet been determined, the company said.

“Our new GreenWise Market concept celebrates specialty, natural and organic foods, and we think foodies and health-conscious customers alike will love what the store will offer,” Publix senior vice president of retail operations Kevin Murphy said in a statement. “We’re especially excited to announce a location in our home town.”

Publix announced last year that it would relaunch its GreenWise Market concept. The first newly redesigned GreenWise Market is currently under construction in Tallahassee, Fla., and is expected to open in late September. A GreenWise Market is under construction in Mount Pleasant, S.C., with an expected opening in early 2019.
