Leadership team members get new or expanded roles

GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. — Dollar General has promoted 18 executives to new roles at the company.

Leslie Allen

Leslie Allen has been promoted to senior vice president, human resources. In this role, she will continue to support DG’s store operations team, which now encompasses more than 20,000 retail stores including pOpshelf and Mexico. Throughout her 12-year tenure at DG, Allen has led the Company’s strategy to attract and retain talent across her numerous HR roles, including organizational development, talent acquisition, corporate HR and retail HR. She has held roles of increasing responsibility, most recently as vice president, human resources for DG’s retail organization since 2021 and was named to the Mass Market Retailers Most Influential Women list in 2023.

Christine Connolly

Christine Connolly has been promoted to senior vice president, corporate secretary and assistant general counsel, securities and governance. In this role, Connolly will assist with all aspects of securities disclosure and compliance, as well as NYSE listing compliance, corporate governance, management of DG’s Board and its committees. She joined Dollar General in 2003 as a senior attorney and assistant corporate secretary and has held roles of increasing responsibility since that time.

Melanie Cook has been promoted to senior vice president, assistant general counsel, employment where she will continue advising the Company in labor and employment matters, including complex employment litigation, as well as supporting the business through regulatory, legislative and other changes that may impact DG. Cook joined Dollar General’s legal team in 2008 and has been instrumental in labor relations strategy and providing practical, decisive and solution-oriented support for corporate initiatives. She was named to the Mass Market Retailers Most Influential Women lists in 2022 and 2024.

Brian Haug

Brian Haug has been promoted to senior vice president, margin planning and analytics. In this role, he leads DG’s merchandise planning and margin forecasting teams. With more than two decades of experience, Haug joined DG in 2012 and has held roles of increasing responsibility, most recently as vice president, merchandise planning. Since 2019, his responsibilities expanded to include merchandise planning for pOpshelf, supply chain forecasting and financial support, pricing execution and financial planning and analytics (FP&A) margin forecasting.

Tracey Herrmann

Amanda Martin

Tracey Herrmann has been appointed senior vice president, store operations and will oversee retail operations for three of DG’s divisions, including approximately 6,500 stores. Herrmann joined DG in 2013 and over the past 11 years has served in roles of increasing responsibility including senior director, merchandising market stores; vice president, merchandising support; divisional vice president, store operations; and most recently senior vice president, channel innovation where she was named among Mass Market Retailers 2023 People Who Make a Difference as well as MMR’s Most Influential Women lists in 2018, 2019 and 2020.

Amanda Mathis

Pooh Vichidvongsa

Amanda Martin has joined Dollar General as senior vice president, distribution. With more than 20 years of operational expertise in leading transformational distribution strategies, Martin will oversee distribution strategy and execution for three of the Company’s supply chain divisions. Prior to joining DG, she served as executive vice president of supply chain at Neiman Marcus Group (NMG) where she held leadership oversight of all warehouses, distribution and fulfillment centers for brick-and-mortar stores, ecommerce facilities and the company’s customer care call center. She also led NMG’s supply chain transformation strategy to modernize its omnichannel distribution and fulfillment network.

Amanda Mathis has joined Dollar General as senior vice president, finance. Mathis will lead the enterprise financial planning and analysis (FP&A) and strategy for the Company while driving results through forward thinking analytics and process optimization. A tenured leader with more than 20 years of finance experience, Mathis has a proven track record as a thought leader who achieves strong results while cultivating talent. Prior to joining DG, she served in several leadership roles at YUM! Brands and most recently as executive vice president, chief financial officer at Bridgestone Americas.

Brittany Adams

Jason Bates

Pooh Vichidvongsa has been promoted to senior vice president, pOpshelf where she will oversee retail operations for the approximately 200 pOpshelf stores. Vichidvongsa joined DG in 2008 and most recently served as vice president, divisional merchandise manager over DG’s health and beauty. In her previous role of VP, DMM in the home division and holiday events categories, she oversaw initiatives and product development within non-consumables and was instrumental in the creation and rollout of the NCI program, designed to refresh general merchandise and improve the customer shopping experience. Additionally, she was name to MMR’s 2023 Most Influential Women list.

Brittany Adams has been promoted to vice president, labor and employment. Adams will continue responsibility for advising the Company on labor and employment law issues and litigation management. Adams joined DG in 2016 as senior employment attorney and most recently served as senior director, labor and employment. She is a trusted resource for advising human resources and business partners on employment law issues, consulting on company policies and ensuring multi-state compliance of laws and regulations that impact the Company.

Jason Bates has been promoted to vice president, business law. He will lead a team of legal professionals who manage much of the Company’s commercial litigation and regulatory matters with responsibility for providing counsel to Dollar General’s business groups on pre-lawsuit dispute resolution, product issues, privacy, and intellectual property matters. Bates joined DG in 2016 as a senior attorney, business law before being promoted into his most recent role as senior director, business law.

Elizabeth Inman

Kelly Ma

Elizabeth Inman has been promoted to vice president, assistant corporate secretary. With her promotion, she will provide advice and counsel on matters relating to compliance with securities laws and regulations, as well as corporate governance matters. Inman joined Dollar General in 2014 as a senior securities and governance attorney, and most recently served as senior director, assistant corporate secretary where she spearheaded several projects related to new securities law reporting requirements.

Kelly Ma has been promoted to vice president, global sourcing. Ma will lead all global sourcing activities for the organization, including the development of new market venture strategies, company-wide cost reduction initiatives and the expansion of DG’s sourcing offices throughout select regions to optimize the Company’s purchasing power while mitigating global supply chain risks. She joined Dollar General in 2019 as director, global sourcing where she developed and lead global sourcing strategies that supported companywide business initiatives and expanded DG’s sourcing capability globally.

Matt Metzger

Sara Montgomery

Matt Metzger has been promoted to vice president, learning and development where he will continue to oversee the strategy and implementation of DG’s award-winning training and development initiatives. Additionally, Metzger’s oversight has expanded to include organization development, where his team will focus on evolving DG’s change management and organizational effectiveness strategies, including succession planning, performance management and employee engagement. Metzger joined DG in 2019 as director, training and development and most recently as senior director, learning and development.

Sara Montgomery has been promoted to vice president, fixtures and strategic initiatives. In this new role for the Company, Montgomery will be focused on merchant initiatives, initiative execution and store fixtures. Most recently, she led and successfully developed the in-store experience strategy for Dollar General’s first international expansion to Mexico with Mi Súper Dollar General. She joined DG in 2007 and over the past 17 years has held roles of increasing responsibility ranging from space planning analyst to senior director of store facilities.

Tricia Olson

Riley Seals

Tricia Olson has been promoted to vice president, business law. Her business law team will review and negotiate all company contracts and continue advising the Company on the legal implications associated with its business agreements. Olson joined DG in 2016 as a senior attorney and was promoted to senior director, business law in 2021.

Riley Seals has been promoted to vice president, distribution centers. Seals will have oversight of four distributions centers and two regional hub operations in Ardmore, Oklahoma; Fulton, Missouri; Indianola, Mississippi; Fort Worth, Texas and Newnan, Georgia. He joined DG in 1998 and during his 26-year tenure, he has served as distribution center director in both Ardmore and Indianola, and as an operations manager in Fulton. Most recently, Seals served as senior director of distribution in Ardmore.

Mike Smith

Wendy Wiemers

Mike Smith has been promoted to vice president, market planning where he will oversee the team leading the new store real estate and mature store asset strategy to include approvals and execution. He joined Dollar General in 2000 and has held roles of increasing responsibility during his more than 24-year tenure. Most recently, Smith served as senior director, market planning and has played an instrumental role in developing DG’s real estate strategy.

Wendy Wiemers has been promoted to vice president, merchandise planning. She will provide governance, monitoring and accuracy assurance for the flow of all non-replenished merchandise into the distribution centers and then to stores. She will also operate as a business partner in planning fiscal year sales, receipt, margin and inventory planning, analysis, reporting and forecasting. Wiemers joined the DG team in 2021 as senior director, merchandise planning.
