ARLINGTON, Va. — FMI president and CEO Leslie Sarasin spoke out on Thursday about the mass shooting earlier this week that left 10 people dead at a King Soopers supermarket in Boulder, Colo.

“We are terribly saddened by the horrific events that took place on Monday afternoon at the King Soopers store in Boulder Colorado and we are devastated by the news regarding the loss of life,” Sarasin said in a video statement. “Our hearts are with the King Soopers and Kroger Company – and their families, friends and neighbors who frequent this vibrant community grocery store. We condemn the violence, and we commend the first responders who bravely came to protect and serve the community. Our food industry is strong, and I’m confident in our ability to help each other and find peace.”
