NEW YORK — A Greek yogurt body wash, a gluten-free pizza and new laundry detergent from market leader Tide are among 30 new products honored on Tuesday by Product of the Year USA.

Winners are selected after consumer research firm TNS surveyed consumers on new consumer packaged goods in a variety of categories.

"Nearly 50,000 new packaged goods products are introduced each year," says Rich Fryling, managing director at Product of the Year USA, an organization that aims to guide consumers in 40 countries to the best products in their market and reward manufacturers for quality and innovation.

Product of the Year accepts entries from producers of products in food, beverage, personal care, household and other categories that "demonstrate innovation and were launched within the previous year."

"The distinctive red Product of the Year logo placed on packages and in advertising helps these new innovative products stand out to consumers, and our research shows that 44% of consumers are more likely to purchase a product recommended by 40,000 shoppers just like them," says Fryling.
