LOS ANGELES — The beauty brand Raw Sugar Living has expanded distribution of their vegan-friendly personal care products to 7,000 Walgreens retail stores nationwide.

Walgreens is the third retail chain to carry a range of the Raw Sugar products, which are currently available at Target and Meijer.

“As a brand whose product development is directly driven by consumer demand, it was important for us to not only meet their needs regarding healthy living products, but to make them more accessible by meeting consumers where they already were — in the aisles of their local retail store. Walgreens was the most strategic next step,” said Ronnie Shugar, co-founder and chief executive officer of Raw Sugar Living.

The company said that the expanded distribution also means that through Raw Sugar’s give-back program, the Raw Sugar Initiative, it will be able to donate more bars of soap to families and communities in need. The company said  millions of soap bars have already been donated through its partner, Direct Relief.

“We felt that Walgreens was truly aligned with our company mission and identified with who we are as a brand — and that was everything to us,” said Donda Mullis, co-founder and chief marketing officer of Raw Sugar Living. “Core to our belief is that everybody has the right to feel beautiful, and we knew that expanding our product reach through thousands of Walgreens stores means that even more people will now not only be able to access our Raw Sugar products but will also be supporting our give-back program — and to us, that is what matters most.”
