Shopko appoints two divisional vice presidents

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Shopko has appointed two divisional vice presidents/divisional merchandise managers. John Bulgarella will oversee the hard home segment and Ann Kasper women’s apparel.

Shopko has appointed two divisional vice presidents/divisional merchandise managers. John Bulgarella will oversee the hard home segment and Ann Kasper women’s apparel.

Bulgarella will be responsible for developing, directing and executing merchandising strategies for the consumer electronics and furniture divisions. Previously, he served as vice president of merchandising, marketing and store operations for InkStop Inc.

Kasper brings over 22 years of apparel industry experience to her new position. Most recently she served as vice president of merchandising catalog/web for Coldwater Creek, a women’s apparel and accessories retailer. Her multi-channel merchandising strategy covered retail, catalog, and e-commerce businesses.

Commenting on the appointments, W. Paul Jones, president, chairman and CEO of Shopko, said each had solid retail experience. He said Bulgarella would make an "excellent addition"  due to his "solid track record of delivering results, his highly-effective leadership skills and his proven talent implementing marketing strategies."

Jones said Kasper’s merchandising leadership skills would provide the discounter "with incredible growth opportunities" and that her commitment to branding and the overall customer experience reflected the chain’s "commitment to meeting the diverse needs of our customers from fashion to quality to value."

Shopko is headquartered in Green Bay, Wis., with stores located in 13 states throughout the Midwest, Mountain and Pacific Northwest regions.
